Job summary

Hang Seng Bank Limited is recruiting a Senior Vice President for Corporate Banking – Mainland Corporates to lead client coverage, structure complex credit facilities and deepen relationships with Mainland Chinese SOEs and POEs. You will drive risk-aware deal origination, coordinate credit proposals and expand the bank’s market presence in the Mainland corporates space.

The role requires strong credit skills, regulatory awareness, and fluency in English and Chinese, with Mandarin preferred.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Management, Banking, Finance or related field.
• Proven coverage banker experience with China Corporates and a strong deal track record.
• Securities (HKSI) and Insurance (IIQE) licenses or competency to carry out regulated activities is highly desired.
• Solid credit analysis skills and knowledge of commercial banking products.
• Growth mindset, change leadership, and ability to drive strategic transformation.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; Mandarin strongly preferred and Cantonese advantageous.
• ECF/CB qualifications would be an asset; MRCS regulatory reference checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Deepen client relationships and generate higher income through focused business development.
• Cover and grow the Chinese SOE and POE portfolio with credible results.
• Negotiate and structure credit facilities and prepare timely credit proposals.
• Maintain loan asset quality by assessing financing requests and monitoring risks.
• Expand the bank's market share in Mainland Corporates.
• Prepare facilities documentation meeting credit approvals and standards.
• Manage operational risks and controls; sell non-lending banking products to boost profitability.
• Provide coaching to a Relationship Officer on marketing and credit capabilities when needed.
