Job summary

HKEX is seeking a Senior Systems Manager to lead the design, implementation and ongoing operation of critical enterprise databases (Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, GaussDB). You will mentor a team of DBAs/engineers and ensure high availability, security and performance in a high-throughput financial environment.

The role requires 10+ years in database administration, strong Linux scripting skills, and proven collaboration with application, infrastructure and security teams to deliver reliable data

Qualifications

• Degree holders in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in database administration, engineering or support.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL or GaussDB.
• Experience in high availability, backup and recovery, performance tuning, patching and upgrades.
• Experience in Linux and scripting for database automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide database architecture, configuration and technical advice for projects and BAU activities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of database administrators and database engineers.

• Perform database installation, patching, upgrade, migration, backup, recovery and performance tuning.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, switchover, failover and recovery testing.
• Automate routine database administration and operational tasks using scripts and tools.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security and project teams on database requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and review database deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
