Job summary

FWD Group in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced IT project leader to drive Life Systems development and enhancements across Asia. You will manage projects from scope through delivery, coach a small development team, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely, budget-compliant results.

The role requires strong enterprise-grade development background, PMP/PSM certification, and knowledge of Life Asia platforms and middleware integrations.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent; 4-6 years IT experience.
• Solid experience in enterprise-scale application development.
• Certified in PMP or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) preferred.
• Knowledge of Life Asia, AS/400 and middleware connectivity.
• Experience with IBM CDC, IBM WAS and BMC Control-M is a plus.
• Experience implementing enterprise IT systems for Life Insurance.
• Good knowledge of Life Insurance products and workflows.
• Able to lead a small IT development team; self-initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor to deliver system modifications within budget and timeframes.
• Oversee project execution, identify risks and mitigate where appropriate.

Summary

This position assumes the role to assist in managing Life Systems development/enhancement projects including Life Asia and Front-End systems Managing activities within sub-team and project monitoring. Collecting user requirements and carried out development tasks including system design, coding, testing and user acceptance testing.

The Job

• Responsible for managing small scale projects throughout its life cycle including feasibility study, user expectation management, and change management.

• Assist direct supervisor to deliver medium to large scale of system modification/enhancement within budget and time frame.

• Oversees responsible project execution within budget and time frame, measuring/identify potential risk and recommends risk mitigation wherever appropriate.

• Propose on system development strategy and planning. Evaluate and recommend new IT products and services.

• Monitor the performance and ensure quality support of all existing IT production systems.

• Assist direct supervisor to establish design standard and lead system development.

• Assist direct supervisor to develop best practices adhere to system development standards.

• IT staff recruitment, coaching, mentoring and vendor management.

The Person

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent, minimum 4-6 years working experience in Information Technology.

• Solid experience in enterprise-scale application development.

• Sound knowledge in project management and essential with certification in project management such as PMP or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).

• Prefer to pass the subjects of 280 and 290 of LOMA examination.

• Competent knowledge in Life Asia, AS/400, middle ware connectivity like DXC MSP or RESTful API integrating with Front-End System.

• Good knowledge in IBM CDC, IBM WAS and BMC Control-M and MS Azure Skytap is an advantage.

• Knowledge and experience in implementing enterprise-scale IT system for Life Insurance.

• Good knowledge in Life Insurance products and workflow.

• Good team player.

• Self-initiative and pro-active.

• Able to lead a small size of IT development team.

• Candidate with less experience, we will still consider as System Analyst.
