About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Fraud Risk team! The role will provide an early and significant impact on the engineering team. You will be expected to be responsible for implementation and support of backend microservices, work closely with the frontend and cross‑functional teams, coordinate complex deliverables, do research and provide meaningful feedback on any decision within the team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementation and support of backend microservices.
• Work closely with frontend and cross‑functional teams to coordinate complex deliverables.
• Research and provide meaningful feedback on decisions within the team.
• Own, monitor and improve our services in production.
• Develop and test high‑quality product features spanning multiple product domains.
• Work with engineering managers, architects, engineers & QA to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles.
• Be a technical leader; research and promote new technologies and tools.
• Face technical challenges—performance, fault‑tolerance, security and live production issues.
• Be involved throughout our service lifecycle and influence every step of the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Proficiency with Java stack and JVM (memory/performance tuning, GC).
• Proficiency with developing Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, Message Queue, Distributed/Scalable Architecture.
• Proficiency in Spring Framework (Spring Boot), Hibernate (or similar ORM), Maven, Git.
• Design and develop 24/7 high‑scale APIs and distributed systems, using Alicloud/AWS.
• Strong CS fundamentals, solid OOP/OOD knowledge, GoF design patterns.
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and CI/CD scripts.

What We Look For In You

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Software Development.
• Solid foundation in Java with deep understanding of JVM configuration optimisation, IO, multithreading, concurrency, common data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with mainstream open‑source application frameworks: SpringBoot, SpringMVC, Mybatis, SpringCloud, etc.
• Knowledge of MySQL, Oracle and other databases, with understanding of locks, indexes, database and SQL optimisation, sub‑database sub‑table, leader/follower synchronization.
• Familiarity with common middleware: Kafka, ELK, Hologres, etc.
• Deep understanding of caching systems: Memcached, Redis, etc., and ability to choose appropriate solutions.
• Good grasp of distributed system principles: CAP, consistency, idempotence.
• Effective teamwork, cross‑team solution delivery for complex dependencies.
• Results‑oriented, self‑learner, problem‑solver with a can‑do attitude.
• Strong communication skills, quick thinking and clarity.
• Preferred bilingual (Mandarin & English) for stakeholder collaboration.

Nice‑To‑Have

• Expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency landscape, understanding of speculators, traders, digital asset exchanges, and related financial institutions.
• Experience launching products within FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Digital Wallet business.
• Strategic, analytical and execution‑oriented history.
• Product management process familiarity.
• Experience working with teams across different time zones.
