Job summary

Astek Hong Kong seeks a Java Backend/Senior Software Engineer with strong DevOps capabilities to join our team in Hong Kong. You will develop Java backend services, ideally using Spring Boot, and own containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.

You will work on distributed systems, REST APIs, and messaging integrations (Kafka/RabbitMQ/ActiveMQ) while contributing to CI/CD, automation, and PostgreSQL data layers. This is a hands-on, production-focused role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Solid experience developing backend applications using Java, preferably with Spring Boot.
• Strong Linux/Unix, Git, Docker and Kubernetes skills.
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
• PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Role combines backend development, distributed systems, containerization and production/DevOps responsibilities.
• Java Microservices Engineer with strong DevOps and Platform responsibilities.

Responsibilities
