Job summary

ICBC (Asia) in Hong Kong seeks a senior RMB FX professional to take full ownership of the RMB Deliverable Forward book across major tenors, managing position, hedging and inventory. You will provide competitive pricing to sales and interbank counterparties, drive desk P&L within risk limits, monitor flows and market developments, and collaborate with sales to capture cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in active FX trading, with RMB DF market exposure preferred.
• Proven track record of managing a profitable DF book and navigating RMB markets (onshore/offshore).
• Familiarity with major trading systems (EBS, CFETS, 360T), Bloomberg, Reuters; advanced Excel analytics (VBA/Python) a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; able to perform under pressure in fast-moving markets.
• Fluent English and Chinese (Putonghua) in speech and writing; clear stakeholder and counterparty communication.
• Solid understanding of FX derivatives pricing, risk metrics, and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Improve electronic trading workflows and pricing models to reduce operational risk.

• Provide competitive two-way pricing and consistent liquidity to sales team and interbank counterparties via electronic platforms and voice channels.
• Actively drive desk P&L while strictly adhering to all risk limits and internal risk frameworks.
• Monitor market flows, order books, and macroeconomic developments to anticipate client demand and adjust pricing strategy accordingly.
• Generate timely market information, in-depth analysis, and high-quality market commentary/reports for management to support strategic decision-making and product development.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams to capture cross-selling opportunities and improve client franchise value.
• Continuously improve electronic trading workflows and pricing models to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above, prefer in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in active FX trading, with substantial exposure to RMB DF markets preferred.
• Proven track record of managing a profitable DF book and navigating both onshore and offshore RMB markets.
• Strong familiarity with major trading systems (EBS, CFETS, 360T, etc.), Bloomberg, Reuters, and advanced MS Office/Excel skills (including VBA or Python for analytics is a plus).
• Self-motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills; ability to work under pressure in fast-moving markets.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); ability to communicate clearly with both internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
• Solid understanding of FX derivatives pricing, risk metrics, and Chinese regulatory environment for FX trading.
