Job summary

Huxley in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced software engineer for a front-office commodities trading environment. You will build Python-based research and data platforms used directly by traders and researchers, and partner with business stakeholders to translate ideas into scalable production solutions.

You will leverage AI and LLMs to boost productivity, own software with high visibility, and collaborate across a global trading organization.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills and production systems experience.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and a quantitative mindset.
• High levels of ownership, initiative, and commercial awareness.
• Comfortable working closely with business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Python-based research, analytics, and data platforms used directly by the trading desk.
• Partner with traders and researchers to turn ideas into scalable production solutions.
