Job summary

BBPOS is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Hong Kong to design mechanical components for POS hardware using SolidWorks and to prepare detailed engineering documentation for product development gates.

You will verify designs, perform tolerance analyses, manage BOM costs, and coordinate with vendors. International travel is required; a Master’s degree is preferred for advanced roles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master preferred.
• 5+ years in product design of plastic and sheet metal with SolidWorks.
• Design plastic housings for devices like smartphones/tablets.
• Understand manufacturing and mechanical production processes.
• Proficient in creating detailed 2D drawings and tolerance calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components or assemblies with SolidWorks modeling to professional standards.
• Prepare engineering documents, specifications, DFx and technical reports.
• Verify mechanical design and drawings; solve technical problems.
• Lead problem solving initiatives and drive project planning.
