Job summary

AIA Shared Services in Hong Kong is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to support IFRS 17-related results analytics, country financial analysis and model changes. You will consolidate IFRS 9 & 17 analytics, produce management commentary, and coordinate with local units on disclosures and investigations.

You will develop financial models, dashboards and quarterly reports, and assist in presentations for management meetings, while maintaining strong communication and data visualization skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Master in actuarial science, finance, accounting, or related business field.
  • Qualified Actuary or progressing actuarial exams.
  • Experience in IFRS 17 reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in Chinese is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint; data analytics tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidate, review and analyze IFRS 9 & 17 monthly analytics and quarterly disclosures; respond to auditor Q&A.
  • Produce commentary on IFRS analytics for stakeholders and management Q&A documents.
  • Coordinate with local business units on results announcements, IFRS analytics and related matters.
  • Collect, interpret and review financial data; create visualizations and dashboards.
  • Prepare financial reports for quarterly results announcements.
  • Support development of financial models, databases and dashboards.
  • Coordinate logistics and materials for management meetings and IFRS 17 projects.
  • Periodically review IFRS 17 guidance and methodology with the team.

You’re securing a better future for the people and communities we serve - today, tomorrow and for generations to come.If that interests you, read on.About the RoleSupport the result announcement process and provide insightful analyses to support management’s decision making on IFRS 17-related results analytics, including country support on financial analysis and advice on business and model changes.Roles & ResponsibilitiesConsolidate, review and analyze the Group IFRS 9 & 17 monthly reported financial analytics and quarterly disclosures including disclosure notes with high quality and deal with relevant Q&A’s with the auditor.Produce commentary on IFRS analytics to stakeholders including financial Q&A documents and any related deliverables as requested by management.Be point of contact and proactively work with local business units on result announcement related, IFRS analytics and any IFRS-related mattersCollect, interpret and review financial information and data visualizationProduce financial reports related to quarterly results announcementAnalyze and summarize financial and operational information to support management in driving business forwardSupport development of financial information models, database and dashboardsCoordinate logistics and prepare materials for management meetings and presentationsCoordinate IFRS 17-related projects and business initiatives and issues managementPeriodically review of the allocated sections of IFRS 17 application guidance and methodology specification.Minimum Job RequirementsDegree/Master holder in actuarial science / finance / accounting or other business disciplinesQualified Actuary, or good progress in actuarial professional examinationStrong understanding of financial reports and insurance businessExperience in IFRS 17 reportingExperience with publicly traded company is preferredTeam player, driven, self-motivated, flexible and enjoy challengesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsStrong communication (verbal, written, graphic) and presentation skills; fluent in spoken and written Chinese is preferredProficiency with the Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and experience in data analytics tools is preferredBuild a career with us as we help our customers and the community live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.You must provide all requested information, including Personal Data, to be considered for this career opportunity.
