Job summary

The Department of Justice in Hong Kong invites applications from solicitors with at least 7 years’ experience or barristers with at least 8 years’ experience for a role in legal advisory, trial preparation and advocacy. The post is deployed in the Prosecutions Division or other DOJ offices, with responsibilities increasing with independence.

Appointments are on non-civil service contract terms for around six months to one year.

Qualifications

• Solicitors with at least 7 years’ professional experience since admission in Hong Kong; or barristers with at least 8 years’ professional experience since right to full practice in Hong Kong.
• Must have Level 2 English and Chinese in HKDSEE/HKCEE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory, trial preparation and advocacy work in the Department of Justice, Prosecutions Division or related offices.
• Work independently on complex legal advisory/advocacy tasks and undertake duties as assigned.
