Job summary

Fidelity International seeks a Senior Portfolio Risk Manager to support the Equity Portfolio Construction & Risk team. You will cover risk management across equity portfolios and help Portfolio Managers build more efficient portfolios.

The role focuses on contributing to risk culture, engaging in Investment Risk Committees, and applying quantitative methods with Python and risk models to guide decisions for client portfolios.

Qualifications

• Ideally University educated, with a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or Economics preferred.
• CFA Charter holder or desire to study towards or an equivalent qualification
• Experience in a similar role in a buy-side institution.
• Deep understanding of global Equity markets and the investment management industry's role within them.
• Familiarity with other asset classes including Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Private Assets is an advantage.
• Self-confident, with effective communication and influencing skills. Able to establish a solid rapport with colleagues across FIL.
• Dynamic can do" attitude with a strong desire to think creatively and innovate to make things happen.
• Familiarity with MSCI Barra risk models is an advantage.
• Strong practical experience working with Python for quantitative analysis is an advantage.
• Attention to detail and committed to accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the equity risk management process across portfolio lines and support Portfolio Managers in building more efficient portfolios.
• Take a leading role in Quarterly Fund Reviews (QFRs) and Investment Risk Committees (IRCs).
• Provide analytics and data support to regional Heads of Equities (Asia ex-Japan, Japan, Australia).
• Respond to analytical requests from Portfolio Managers and clients with sound interpretation of results.
• Contribute to the Equity CIO's weekly risk review meeting.
• Drive use of third-party risk modelling tools to stay aligned with industry best practice.
• Undertake quantitative research using Python and financial datasets with FIL's Technology teams to build innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with Distribution, Product and Technology colleagues globally.
