Job summary

A well-established public enterprise in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in DevOps and Service Mesh. This role involves supporting software engineering teams in building customer-facing products, leading code contributions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have a degree in Computer Science, hands-on experience with Kubernetes, and proficiency in English. This is a contract position, renewable every three years with benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Good knowledge in Service Mesh application.
• 2+ years’ experience in low-latency microservice design.
• Experience designing and operating Kubernetes-based microservices.
• 2+ years in developing low-latency microservices with Spring Boot/Spring Framework.
• Strong knowledge of microservices design patterns and system integration.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• English proficiency is mandatory; Cantonese/Putonghua is a plus.

• Support software engineering teams in the design, build, testing, maintenance and support of customer-facing products and services.
• Work with your cross‑functional development team in HK and SZ in designing and implementing new services and applications involving real‑time wagering products.
• Actively lead by example through hands‑on code contributions, pair programming and providing constructive code reviews.
• Follow best practices and agreed coding standards.
• Collaborate with other delivery teams to deliver a high performance, low latency and mission‑critical digital platform with common services.
• Seek opportunities to constantly improve work practices and team achievements.

Job Requirements

• Degree or above in Computer Science, IT or related discipline.
• 1+ years hand‑on experience in adopting Kubernetes and its ecosystem (prefer Certified Kubernetes Developers/Administrator) with the best practice.
• Good knowledge in the application of Service Mesh.
• Good experience in designing, implementing & operating Kubernetes platforms with mission‑critical systems.
• 2+ years’ experience in design and development of the low‑latency microservice with Spring Boot & Spring Framework (prefer Java SE 11 Programmer II and Spring Certified Professional).
• Good understanding of microservices design patterns, data structure & algorithm, and system integration.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) is mandatory, able to communicate in Cantonese and Putonghua is an advantage.
