Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years editing and reporting breaking news at a leading digital-first media outlet.
- Deep knowledge and experience covering US news, with a background in editing or reporting on national politics or major political campaigns.
- Sharp news judgment with a natural ability to think in headlines and frame complex stories.
- Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work weekends.
- Perfect grasp of written and spoken English.
- Self-starter with a history of delivering outstanding journalism.
Responsibilities
- Deliver breaking US politics news to a multiplatform audience.
- Edit breaking news with clarity, context and urgency.
- Serve as a key editorial link between CNN's US and EMEA hubs.
- Prepare morning coverage for CNN's US audience by overnight stories.
- Lead minute-by-minute updates across formats, including video.
- Ensure journalism adheres to CNN's standards and editorial integrity.
