Job summary

TransUnion Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to design and implement enterprise database solutions. You will manage multi-DBMS environments, ensure high availability, and drive performance tuning and security controls.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on DBA experience, strong Unix/Linux knowledge, and excellent communication. This on-site position offers ongoing professional growth and a focus on reliability for critical operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise database environments in production support or DBA capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, ClickHouse, or similar.
• Experience supporting Unix/Linux-based environments; exposure to AIX advantageous.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills with root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to convey technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database solutions to meet performance, scalability, and availability goals.
• Manage day-to-day administration of multiple database technologies and ensure stable operations.
• Develop HA, DR, and security frameworks to safeguard data and ensure continuity.
• Monitor, analyze, and tune performance to improve efficiency and capacity utilization.
• Plan upgrades, migrations, patching, and system enhancements with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure teams, and vendors for project delivery.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and drive continuous improvement.
