Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced professional to manage custody tax operations, liaise with sub-custodians and tax authorities, and coordinate tax audits. The role involves preparing market-specific tax documents, supporting IRS reporting, and collaborating with product and development teams to enhance custody tax capabilities.

Strong communication, independence, and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in custody business.
• Broad knowledge of markets and instruments (equities, fixed income).
• Familiar with tax document requirements across markets.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills.
• Independent thinker with ability to manage workload and stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and efficient follow-through.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the custody tax operation including Relief at Source and Tax reclaim.
• Connect with sub-custodian networks and local tax authority in dealing with tax related issue(s).
• Manage and coordinate tax audits.
• Prepare tax documents in regular basis according to the requirements of different markets, and handle all information data requests.
• Cooperate with Tax Product team to complete annual US source income reporting to IRS.
• Work with Product team to enhance BOCHK’s capability on custody tax operations.
• Assist in system development and perform UAT.
