Job summary

Charterhouse Partnership is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its Hong Kong team as a trusted advisor. You will support a broad range of banking transactions, draft and negotiate diverse legal documents, and manage documentation risk across the branch.

You will work with business units and external counsel, contribute to policy design, and provide guidance on new initiatives while ensuring compliance with Hong Kong law. English and Chinese proficiency are required.

Qualifications

Qualified Hong Kong solicitor with 5+ years' post-qualification experience.
Experience in banking or finance practice preferred.
Solid regulatory knowledge for Hong Kong banking.

Responsibilities

Advise on transactions, documentation, and day-to-day business matters.
Draft, negotiate, and review lending facilities, securities, collateral, and related agreements.
Engage external counsel and coordinate their involvement in transactions.
Help design policies to strengthen legal risk management and provide guidance on new initiatives.
Deliver internal training on legal topics and coordinate with external lawyers where appropriate.
Support Head Office and other branches on Hong Kong law matters.
Identify and escalate complex or non-standard legal issues as needed.
