Job summary

Michael Page International (Hong Kong) Limited is recruiting a Legal Counsel for a leading international bank in Hong Kong. The role covers legal advice on banking operations, drafting and negotiating documents, and monitoring regulatory developments.

You will manage external advisers, support product development, and contribute to risk management frameworks. Fluency in English and Chinese, and HK solicitor qualification with 2-5 PQE, are required.

Qualifications

• Qualified Hong Kong solicitor with 2–5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience at a reputable law firm and/or financial institution.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Providing legal advice on banking operations and financial transactions.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents and agreements.
• Support new product development and business initiatives from a legal perspective.
• Monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on business operations.
• Manage external legal advisers and oversee legal aspects of projects and transactions.
• Develop policies, deliver training and help strengthen legal risk management frameworks.
