Job summary

Morgan McKinley Limited is assisting a premier tier‑one international banking group in Hong Kong to expand its technology team. The role is a 6‑month extendable contract focused on core enterprise applications used for critical financial operations.

You will drive development, gather requirements, and supervise teams to ensure quality and on‑time delivery across the full SDLC, with hands‑on coding in Java, JMS, WebSphere, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree holder or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of solid experience in software engineering, ideally in a lead capacity.
• Hands‑on proficiency in Java, JMS, WebSphere, Oracle, SQL, MQ, Python, UNIX, AIX, and Shell Scripting.
• Domain knowledge in Corporate Banking, Custody, Corporate Trust, or Agency Business is highly preferred.
• Solid grasp of the full SDLC, system architecture design, and QA testing practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with strong communication in English and Chinese (Mandarin is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Drive system development and enhancement projects for core Corporate Banking and Custody platforms.
• Gather user requirements and create detailed functional and technical design specifications.
• Supervise development teams to guarantee code quality and deliver projects on schedule.
• Perform hands‑on software development, testing, and system maintenance.
• Partner with external vendors to ensure deliverables stay within scope and budget.
• Oversee quality assurance and end-to-end testing processes across the software life cycle.
