Job summary

We seek a Senior AI Software Engineer to join our Strategic Data Unit to create robust AI-powered applications that enhance decision-making and automate high-value workflows across the LFX generative AI stack.

You will assess AI usefulness, build production-ready solutions, and ensure security, scalability, and measurable outcomes in a commercial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• 3–6+ years’ experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong Python development skills for production-ready apps.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML or generative-AI solutions, including LLM apps, RAG and/or AI agents.
• Fluent Cantonese and English communications.

Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior AI Software Engineer to join our Strategic Data Unit (SDU), a specialized data function within the Group to create and manage common data, general algorithms, and data bridges to the LFX Group.

You will develop AI-powered applications that improve decision-making, automate high-value workflows and enhance user experiences across LFX generative AI. You will be expected to assess where AI is genuinely useful, build robust solutions rather than demos, and ensure that systems are secure, measurable, scalable and fit for use in a commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business and stakeholders to identify and prioritise high-impact AI use cases.
• Design, build and deploy AI-powered applications, including generative-AI, LLM, RAG and agent-based solutions.
• Develop workflow automations for research, document processing, knowledge management, operations, risk analysis and internal productivity.
• Build data-ingestion, processing and retrieval pipelines for structured and unstructured data, including documents, reports and internal knowledge bases.
• Integrate AI applications with internal systems and platforms through APIs, databases and enterprise tools.
• Evaluate and optimise AI models, prompts and retrieval approaches for accuracy, reliability, latency, cost and user experience.
• Establish testing, monitoring and evaluation processes for deployed AI solutions.
• Work with engineering teams to maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, deployment and ongoing support.
• Keep up to date with developments in generative AI, AI agents, MLOps and responsible-AI practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
• 3–6 years’+ relevant experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong Python development skills are essential, including experience building clean, maintainable and production-ready applications.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying AI/ML or generative-AI solutions, including LLM applications, RAG and/or AI agents.
• Experience with AI frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar, as well as APIs, databases and cloud-based deployment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent written and spoken in Cantonese and English.
