We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary School Economics Teacher to join our Social Sciences Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Economics across Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS/A Level, Edexcel AS/A Level and IBDP programs. This role requires a strong understanding of global economic theory and practice, and a commitment to fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and real-world application among students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning:

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Economics lessons in accordance with IGCSE, AS/A Level, and IBDP curricula.

Create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages inquiry, research, and debate.

Utilize differentiated instruction to address diverse learning needs and abilities.

Assess and monitor student learning through formative and summative assessments.

Provide clear, constructive feedback to guide student progress.

Integrate real-world economic issues and case studies into teaching practice.

Pastoral & Student Development:

Support the academic and personal development of students.

Foster independent thinking, academic integrity, and a passion for global affairs.

Build strong relationships with students and provide academic mentoring when needed.

Collaboration & Professional Development:

Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and departmental planning.

Participate in professional learning, school activities, and parent engagement.

Contribute to school events and support student participation in Economics-related competitions or clubs.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field

Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)

Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE, AS/A Level, or IBDP Economics

Demonstrated success in promoting student achievement in Economics

Strong knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and global economic systems

Effective classroom management and student engagement techniques

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to use assessment data to guide instruction and improve outcomes

Preferred:

Experience in international school settings

Familiarity with digital tools for Economics instruction and assessment

Involvement in extracurricular activities or academic competitions
