As a Science Tutor, you will deliver instruction in Biology, Chemistry and Physics aligned with IGCSE and IB curricula, design engaging lesson plans, prepare students for exams, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback,

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Science Tutor specialising in IGCSE/IB to join our team at tutorserviceshk. This is a part-time position based in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai District, offering flexibility for educators who wish to share their expertise with motivated students. As a Science Tutor, you will play a crucial role in helping students develop a comprehensive understanding of science concepts aligned with international examination standards. Your role will be instrumental in preparing students for academic success whilst fostering a genuine passion for scientific inquiry and discovery.

What you'll be doing

Delivering high-quality science instruction in IGCSE and IB curricula, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics components as required

Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student learning styles and academic goals

Preparing students thoroughly for IGCSE and IB examinations through targeted revision sessions and practice assessments

Assessing student progress regularly and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement

Explaining complex scientific concepts in clear, accessible ways that facilitate deep understanding

Encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for scientific success

Maintaining detailed records of student attendance, progress and areas requiring additional support

Collaborating with other tutors and educational staff to ensure consistent, high-quality tuition delivery

Staying current with examination board requirements and updates to IGCSE and IB curricula

What we're looking for

Degree qualification in Science (or relevant discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics) from a recognised institution

Proven experience tutoring science at IGCSE and/or IB level, demonstrating familiarity with examination requirements and assessment criteria

Deep subject matter expertise across core science disciplines, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to secondary-level students

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and adapt teaching methods to different learning needs

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple students and lesson schedules effectively
