Job summary

Veolia Hong Kong & Macau is seeking a Safety Officer to maintain the health and safety management framework for Green Valley Landfill Limited and its SENT landfill projects. The role coordinates compliance activities with internal teams and external partners, validates safety data, and supports training programs for staff, visitors, and contractors.

Applicants should hold OSH qualifications and relevant certifications; First Aid is preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Occupational Safety & Health.
• Construction Safety (Green Card) Training (if applicable).
• Safety Supervisor Certificate issued by OSHC or CIC.
• Lifting Safety Supervisor Certificate issued by OSHC or CIC.
• First Aid Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Occupational Safety and Health Management System in accordance with health & safety regulations, permits, contractual requirements and company policy.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties on health and safety compliance, conduction, inspection, investigation, job hazard analysis and audit programs.
• Validate all health and safety data, ensure data quality and prepare required reports.
• Coordinate and implement safety compliance and awareness activities and training for staff, visitors and contractors.

Job description

Green Valley Landfill Limited (GVL), a joint venture with Veolia Hong Kong & Macau, manages the South East New Territories (SENT) Landfill and its extension. GVL focuses on sustainable waste management, converting landfill gas into electricity, fuel, and synthetic natural gas.

Job Description

• Maintain the Occupational Safety and Health Management System in accordance with applicable health & safety regulations, permits, contractual requirements and company policy
• Coordinate with different parties (both internal and external) on the health and safety compliance conduction, inspection investigation, job hazard analysis and audit programs
• Validate all health and safety data, including quality of the data and prepare all required reports
• Coordinate and implement the health and safety compliance and awareness promotional activities and training programmes for all staff, visitors and contractors

Qualifications

• Diploma or above/ Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health
• Construction Safety (Green Card) Training
• Safety Supervisor Certificate issued by OSHC or CIC
• Lifting Safety SupervisorCertificateissued by OSHC or CIC
• Holder of First Aid Certificate is preferred
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese

Additional Information

Requirements

• 0-3 experiences in a construction site is preferred (more experience may considered as a Assistant Safety Officer)
• Holder of First Aid certificate is required
• Driving license is preferred (Class 1 and 2)
• Proficient in MS office / Google applications
• Determined, motivated team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent presentation and presentation skills
