Job summary

WPP Production is seeking a senior retoucher to join our global production team. You will lead high-end image retouching aligned with creative direction, ensuring pixel-perfect results across multi-channel assets.

With 5-8 years in a commercial studio or agency, you will leverage advanced color correction, color matching, and non-destructive workflows. The role requires superb attention to detail, excellent collaboration, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of retouching experience in a commercial studio or advertising agency.
• Strong and polished retouching skills with a keen eye for aesthetics, lighting, and composition.
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized, able to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
• Experienced in Photoshop color correction, color matching, and advanced non-destructive editing workflows.
• Understanding of printing and pre-press specifications.
• Able to maintain pixel-perfect standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and openness to creative feedback from Directors.
• Expert knowledge of color theory, color spaces (RGB vs CMYK), and color proofing practices.

Responsibilities

• Print Production & Color Literacy: collaborate with Print Production Manager on color proofing.
• Multi-Channel Asset Preparation: prepare images for catalogue, internet, retail, marketing collateral.
• Advanced Commercial Compositing: perform complex multi-image retouching for high-end visuals.
• Core Digital Imaging: color correction, masking, texture reconstruction, high-end retouching.
• AI-Assisted Workflow Integration: use AI tools to accelerate background extensions and concept prototyping.
• Creative Alignment: adjust images as directed by the Creative Director.
• Studio Team Hand-off: prepare layered master images for downstream delivery.
• Deadline & Workflow Accountability: meet deadlines and seek help when workloads peak.
• Asset Hygiene: maintain organized image archive.

Key Responsibilities

• Print Production & Color Literacy: Applies a strong working knowledge of color separation and CMYK color spaces to collaborate effectively with the Print Production Manager, providing expert visual judgment during the color proofing process in a multi-channel, fast-paced production environment.
• Multi-Channel Asset Preparation: Manipulation and preparation of images for catalogue, internet, retail, and marketing collateral use.
• Advanced Commercial Compositing: Able to independently perform composite retouching of complex multi-image commercial photos to create seamless, high-end final visuals.
• Core Digital Imaging: Execute precise color correction, intricate masking, texture reconstruction, high-end retouching, and overall digital imaging workflows.
• AI-Assisted Workflow Integration: Leverage generative AI capabilities and advanced tools (such as Adobe Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill/Expand, and AI-driven selection models) to accelerate background extensions, element generation, and concept prototyping while ensuring commercial-grade quality.
• Creative Alignment: Execute high-quality image retouching and visual adjustments as directly directed by the Creative Director.
• Studio Team Hand-off: Prepare, clean, and structure layered master images perfectly for seamless delivery to the downstream Studio team.
• Deadline & Workflow Accountability: Meet all scheduled production deadlines, thoroughly review completed work before releasing the project, and recognize the need for—and actively request—help when workloads peak.
• Asset Hygiene: Maintain a meticulously organized, named, and structured image archive of all digital image assets.

• Strong and polished retouching skills with a keen, proven eye for aesthetics, lighting, and composition.
• Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and able to manage multiple complex projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
• Experienced in Photoshop Color Correction, color matching, and advanced non-destructive editing workflows.
• Understanding of printing and pre-press specifications.
• Ability to complete work accurately and maintain pixel-perfect standards in a time-sensitive, fast-paced production environment.
• Must exhibit excellent team/collaboration skills with the ability to open-mindedly process creative feedback from Creative Directors.
• Expert knowledge of color theory, color spaces (RGB vs. CMYK), and color proofing practices.
