Job summary

This role seeks a Responsible Officer (RO) to provide strategic oversight, drive regulatory compliance, and support the expansion of virtual asset operations in Hong Kong.

The RO will supervise governance for SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 activities, coordinate with authorities, and ensure ongoing adherence to the Securities and Futures Ordinance.

Qualifications

• SFC-approved RO for Type 1, 4, and 9 with VA capabilities, or Licensed Representative meeting RO competency.
• 3 years of relevant industry experience in the past 6 years, and must be sole-RO.
• Proven licensing record in a licensed corporation with VA uplift within 3–6 years.
• Fluent Mandarin (Cantonese) and English.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight as RO for SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 regulated activities (including VA and traditional activities).
• Drive and support Hong Kong VA business operations expansion and governance.
• Participate in board/management committee meetings to supervise operations and risk management.
• Liaise with SFC and authorities to ensure compliance with Securities and Futures Ordinance and guidelines.
• Handle ad-hoc regulatory tasks as required.

As part of their strategic expansion, they are now applying for SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 licenses with VA function. To support this application and ongoing operations, they are currently looking for experienced Responsible Officer (RO).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a core RO to provide strategic oversight and fulfill regulatory governance requirements for SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 regulated activities (including traditional and VA).
• Drive and support the group’s strategic expansion and development of virtual asset (VA) business operations in Hong Kong.
• Participate in periodic board, investment, or management committee meetings to supervise core business operations and risk management frameworks.
• Handle regulatory inquiries, liaise with the SFC and relevant authorities as required, and ensure ongoing alignment with the Securities and Futures Ordinance and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently approved by the SFC as an RO for Type 1, 4, and 9 (with VA capabilities), OR a current Licensed Representative who fully meets the RO competency requirements (e.g., meeting the 3 years of relevant industry experience over the past 6 years). Must be sole-RO.
• Must have a proven licensing record in a licensed corporation that has successfully completed the VA uplift within the past 3 to 6 years.
• Good command of written and spoken Mandarin, Chinese (Cantonese), and English.
• Good command of written and spoken Mandarin, Chinese and English.
