Job summary

Arup is inviting applications for a resident site staff position on the Landslip Prevention and Mitigation Programme, HK Island and Outlying Islands, Phase 1, Contract A. The 45-month project starts December 2026 and upgrades substandard government features.

We seek a capable professional with HK qualifications and significant post-qualification experience, plus language proficiency in Chinese and English at Level 2 or above. Appointment is on contract terms under government policies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher Certificate from HK CIC or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• At least 8 years of post-qualification experience; OR
• At least 5 years as Resident Assistant Inspector of Works on public works projects.
• For the RSS rank, language proficiency Level 2+ in Chinese and English (HKDSEE/HKCEE or equivalent).

Job description

We now invite applications for the following resident site staff position for Contract No. GE/2026/06 - Landslip Prevention and Mitigation Programme, Hong Kong Island and Outlying Islands, Phase 1, Contract A.

This 45-month project, involving upgrading of twenty-nine substandard government man-made features in the Hong Kong Island and Outlying Islands, to be commenced in December 2026.

Is this role right for you?

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Diploma or Higher Certificate from Construction Industry Council in Hong Kong/Hong Kong Institute of Construction/Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Technical Institute/Technical College/Polytechnic University/Polytechnic in Hong Kong or equivalent in an appropriate discipline; AND
• At least 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience; OR
• At least 5 years of relevant experience as Resident Assistant Inspector of Works or equivalent in public works projects or those projects listed in Section 4.5.2 of the RSS Management Handbook
• For the above technical RSS rank, candidate should have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.

Appointment will be made on contract term in accordance with the prevailing government’s terms and conditions. For the usual duties of the position, please refer to RSS Management Handbook Appendix 7.4.
