Job summary

Averi Hong Kong Limited is seeking a Research & Development Engineer to join its AI product team and translate research ideas into practical AI-powered solutions. You will contribute to design, development and validation of innovative technologies powering Dotof AI.

You will work on applied research, collaborate with founders and engineers, and help advance the product from prototype to production in a fast-paced startup setting in Hong Kong.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering or other STEM-related disciplines.
• Fresh graduates are welcome; research, internship or project experience in AI, software development or related fields is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Python and a good understanding of software development principles.
• Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow), APIs and version control (Git); cloud or MLOps experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Passion for research, innovation and continuous learning, with the ability to quickly explore and apply new technologies.
• Self-motivated team player with good communication skills, adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, evaluate and validate emerging technologies, algorithms and technical solutions to support product innovation.
• Design, develop, test and enhance software applications, AI solutions and product features from prototype to production.
• Build proof-of-concepts (PoCs), perform experiments and analyse results to evaluate technical feasibility and performance.
• Develop, optimise and maintain AI models, data pipelines and software systems to improve product performance, scalability and reliability.
• Prepare technical documentation, research reports and implementation records, and present findings to the engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to technical discussions, solution design and continuous improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and proactively recommend innovative solutions that enhance the company's products, engineering practices and R&D capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
