Job summary

The Chinese University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong invites applications for a postdoctoral position in life sciences with a focus on cellular biology, omics analyses, and neurological disease mechanisms. The appointee should have a PhD and demonstrated research experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and models such as patient iPSC-derived neurons or animal models, including drug studies in vitro and in vivo.

The appointment is initially for up to three years, renewable on performance.

Job description

Applicants should have

• (i) a PhD degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines
• and (ii) demonstrated research ability and experience in cell biology, molecular biology, patient iPSC-derived neuron and animal models, biological drug studies (in vitro and in vivo), or other advanced omics analytical skills, such as transcriptomics.

Applicants with at least four years of relevant postdoctoral experience and a strong publication record are preferred. Track records in securing competitive research grants and experience in neurological disease mechanistic studies and/or drug discovery research would be an advantage.

The appointee is expected to

• (a) seek and secure external research grants;
• (b) conduct research in neurological disease mechanisms and/or drug discovery;
• (c) co-supervise postgraduate students;
• and (d) assist in laboratory management.

The appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
