Job summary

Canonical is hiring a UX Designer for Infrastructure to collaborate with engineering teams, turning complex open-source software into intuitive products for enterprise IT. The role sits in the design team, reports to the Infrastructure design manager, and is based remotely in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities include building cloud tooling (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, Canonical k8s), partnering with product managers and engineers, and evolving design systems for consistency.

Qualifications

• Academic excellence in education and STEM/UX.
• Bachelor’s or equivalent in UX, Design, or STEM.
• Interest in building hardware-focused experiences.
• Strong knowledge of user experience, technology and design.

Responsibilities

• Build tools enabling cloud experiences (MAAS, LXD, MicroCloud, Canonical k8s).
• Collaborate with PMs and engineers to shape data center/cloud direction.
• Support complex products with UX heuristics and design processes.
• Evolve and evangelise design systems for consistency and efficiency.
• Understand the wider impact of your work and constraints.
• Support canonical design’s horizontal efforts via working groups.
