Job summary

ExxonMobil Hungary is seeking an experienced Local Statutory Financial Reporting Advisor to strengthen our finance team. The role focuses on statutory reporting, IFRS/US GAAP compliance, and accurate year-end close across affiliates in the EMEA region.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in financial reporting, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a proven ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 5–10 years in financial statement reporting and journal prep.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and accounting principles.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks).
• Analytical minded with clear communication and detail focus.
• Ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Execute year-end close, including US GAAP to IFRS adjustments and reconciliations.
• Compile annual report and directors’ report with notes and strategic content.
• Coordinate statutory audits with external auditors and cross-functional teams.
• Present results and insights to the Board and senior stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with controls and regulatory requirements.

What role will you play in our team

As a key part of the Global Business Solutions organization, the Financial Close, Consolidation, and External Reporting Department delivers financial services to over 200 affiliates across the EMEA region. We are currently seeking an experienced Local Statutory Financial Reporting Advisor to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of experience in financial statement reporting and analysis, along with a solid understanding of international accounting standards, including IFRS and US GAAP.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with applicable GAAP and internal company policies.
• Execute year-end close activities, including US GAAP to IFRS or local GAAP adjustments, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Compile the full annual report, including financial statements, accompanying notes, the strategic report, and the directors’ report.
• Coordinate local statutory audits with external auditors and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate audit completion.
• Present financial results and key insights to the Board of Directors and other senior stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within the financial reporting cycle.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

About you: skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, or Finance.
• 5–10 years of experience in financial statement reporting and journal preparation.
• Deep understanding of financial accounting principles, with solid knowledge of international reporting standards such as US GAAP or IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and maintaining data integrity.
