Job summary

Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) invites dynamic professionals to join our Business Development Team. We organise over 30 world-class international trade fairs in Hong Kong each year, fostering opportunities for exhibitors and buyers worldwide.

The role involves assisting project managers in planning and coordination, providing logistics support, market research, and cross-team liaison to ensure smooth execution of trade promotion projects.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in exhibitions, sales or marketing.
• Excellent English and Chinese language skills, Putonghua is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a team to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager in overall project planning and coordination.
• Provide logistic support and recruit participants for trade promotion projects.
• Conduct market research and support proposal development.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders for project alignment.
• Identify sales leads and perform follow-ups.
• Support sales database entry and data management.
• Handle inquiries from exhibitors and assist on-site during exhibitions.
• Support on-site and online operations and logistics.
• Provide ad hoc assistance as required.

Job description

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professionals to join our Business Development Team. To strengthen Hong Kong's role as Asia's international business platform, we organise more than 30 world-class international trade fairs in Hong Kong each year. These fairs, which cover various industries and sectors, create opportunities for companies to promote their products or services to buyers from all over the world.

Responsibilities:

• To assist project manager in the overall project planning and coordination, contributing to overall team efficiency
• To provide logistic support and recruit participants for trade promotion projects
• To conduct marketing research and contribute to proposal development, supporting strategic planning and outreach
• To coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless project alignment and communication
• To identify sales leads and conduct follow ups
• To provide support on sales database compilation and data entry into systems
• To handle enquiries from exhibitors / participants and undertake on-site duties during exhibitions
• To provide support for on-site and online operations and logistics
• To provide ad hoc assistance as required

Requirements:

• At least 1year’ssolid relevant experience, preferably in exhibition field, sales and marketing
• Strong command in English and Chinese. Fluent in Putonghua
• Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Capable to work as team to deliver quality work within tight timeframe and limited resources
• Proficiency in MS applications and Chinese word-processing
• Customer-oriented, good team spirit and able to work under pressure
• Willing to work overtime and occasionally on during weekends / public holidays

Remuneration and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration package including annual leave will be offered.
