Job summary

Renaissance College, part of the English Schools Foundation, in Hong Kong, is seeking an Educational Assistant to join the team. You will actively support students to access a balanced curriculum and help build positive relationships within a professional teaching team.

You will contribute to a range of teaching and learning activities, support administrative tasks, and ensure confidentiality of student information. A collaborative, respectful approach and solid IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Strong IT skills.
• Previous experience of inquiry-based learning is of benefit.

Renaissance College is now recruiting an Educational Assistant to join the team.

The roles and responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

• To actively support all students to access a balanced school curriculum
• To build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect, consideration, and a concern for their well‑being and development as learners
• To join and work cohesively within a highly motivated and professional group of teachers and educational assistants
• To build strong working relationships with others and maintain effective communication
• To support by taking on practical roles of responsibility for administrative, managerial and auditing activities
• To assure that appropriate confidentiality standards are in place and enforced

Requirements

• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Ability to work effectively under the direction and supervision of teachers and the department coordinator
• Contribute to a range of teaching and learning activities
• Good level of understanding and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs
• Ability to effectively build relationships with students
• Ability to take the initiative in supporting students as needed
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional team
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to all student information
• Strong IT skills
• Previous experience of inquiry-based learning is of benefit
