Argyll Scott is seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Manager in Hong Kong to lead the ML engineering team and drive production ML and agentic AI solutions. You will steer technical direction, prioritize delivery, and raise engineering standards across ML deployment and MLOps.

The role requires hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration with data scientists and infrastructure, and strong communication across business teams.

Hong Kong | HKD 80,000-100,000 P/M - 12 Month Extendable Contract

We're partnering with a leading retail group to hire a Machine Learning Engineering Manager to lead its ML engineering team and drive the delivery of production machine learning and agentic AI solutions.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong leader who enjoys developing engineers, overseeing multiple projects and turning AI ideas into reliable business applications.

The role

• Lead the ML engineering team, setting technical direction, delivery priorities and engineering standards.
• Oversee the deployment and operation of ML models, LLM applications and AI agents.
• Strengthen MLOps and agent operations practices across testing, deployment, monitoring and reliability.
• Review technical designs and code, providing guidance on complex engineering challenges.
• Partner with data scientists, data architects and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable production solutions.
• Support projects spanning agentic decision support, demand forecasting and AI platforms for business analytics.

What we're looking for

• Strong ML engineering experience and a solid software engineering background.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing multiple projects.
• Hands-on understanding of production ML deployment, MLOps and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with LLM applications and agentic AI, including deployment and operational considerations.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working across technical and business teams.
• Cantonese proficiency is strongly preferred for internal stakeholder collaboration.

Candidates from all industries are welcome. Retail or consulting experience would be an advantage.
