Job summary

YISHUN TOWING PTE LTD in Hong Kong is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of mechanical equipment and hydraulic systems.

The role involves fabricating, assembling tow bars, forks, hydraulic equipment and related mechanical components, reading drawings, testing cylinders, pumps and valves, and ensuring quality and safety standards. You will work on-site and coordinate with engineers and production staff.

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing, inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment and hydraulic systems.

The successful candidate will be involved in the production and technical servicing of tow bars, forks, hydraulic equipment and related mechanical components, ensuring that products meet required specifications, quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the fabrication, assembly and installation of tow bars, forks, hydraulic equipment and related mechanical components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications and equipment manuals.
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Install, connect and test hydraulic systems, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses and related components.
  • Conduct inspection and testing of completed mechanical and hydraulic assemblies.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults during assembly, testing and servicing.
  • Carry out adjustment, alignment and functional testing of manufactured equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, servicing and repair of mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Inspect components for defects, wear, alignment and dimensional accuracy.
  • Identify defective components and recommend appropriate repair, replacement or adjustment.
  • Assist with modification and improvement of existing mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Conduct on-site installation, testing and commissioning of equipment where required.
  • Maintain records of production, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair activities.
  • Coordinate with production staff, engineers, suppliers and customers on technical and equipment-related matters.
  • Ensure all work complies with company quality, safety and workplace safety procedures.
  • Assist engineers and supervisors with mechanical engineering and product-development projects.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Relevant experience in mechanical equipment manufacturing, hydraulic systems, fabrication, assembly or engineering works will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical assemblies and engineering components.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses and related components will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mechanical measuring and testing equipment.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to perform hands-on mechanical and hydraulic work.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a technical/production team.
