Job summary

Sun Life in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned actuary to lead pricing for new products and manage profitability analysis. You’ll collaborate with Actuarial, Product, Marketing and IT on product design, assumptions justification and UAT coordination.

The role requires 5+ years in life insurance pricing, strong Excel/AXIS skills, and fluency in English and Chinese. You’ll interact with senior stakeholders and drive financial insights while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Qualifications

• University degree in Actuarial Science or related discipline.
• Professional actuary designation (FSA/FCIA/FIA/FIAA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in life insurance, preferably in product pricing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; AXIS experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and Chinese; strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support Director, Product Pricing and lead pricing on new products to meet profitability requirements.

• Conduct reinsurance negotiations.
• Review marketing material for accuracy and coordinate UAT for system development.

Responsibilities

• Support Director, Product Pricing and lead pricing on new products to meet company’s profitability requirement, including planning and management of pricing deliverables, analysis of pricing results, coaching and reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
• Coordinate with various functions such as Actuarial, Product, Marketing and IT on product architecture and implementation, assumptions justification, risk assessment, etc, throughout the product development and pricing process
• Conduct reinsurance negotiation
• Review marketing material to ensure product related information are accurate, review user requirement prepared by juniors and coordinate UAT for system development
• Prepare and review regular business reports and business analysis
• Manage financial analysis on special quotation and review illustrations

Requirements

• University graduate in Actuarial Science or related discipline
• Qualified actuary
• FSA, FCIA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the life insurance, preferably in product pricing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and experience in AXIS is an advantage.
• Proficient command of spoken and written English and Chinese
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Can work independently with minimum supervision
• Good at problem solving under pressure and excellent time management
