Job summary

Gary Cheng CPA Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead IPO and audit engagements, reporting to Partners and enforcing auditing standards. The role requires strong leadership to identify irregularities and drive corrective actions, while providing strategic recommendations to top management.

The ideal candidate will have HKICPA membership, 5–8 years in an accounting firm with at least 3 years in a managerial role, and familiarity with HK listing rules and IPO

Qualifications

• Qualified member of HKICPA or equivalent.
• 5–8 years at an accounting firm with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience with IPOs/listed companies under HK rules.
• Willing to travel as required.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin).

Responsibilities

• Report to Partners, plan and lead the team to execute IPO and audit engagements.
• Identify irregularities and ensure corrective actions are followed.
• Enforce auditing standards and prepare policies and manuals.
• Provide recommendations on strategic, operational and compliance areas to top management.
• Involve in potential pitching engagements.

Responsibilities:

• Identify irregularities/errors in the engagement review process, ensure corrective actions are followed through
• Enforce auditing standards; prepare policies, procedures and manuals in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements
• Provide valuable recommendations regarding strategic, operational and compliance areas to top management
• Involve in potential pitching engagement

Requirements:

• Qualified member of HKICPA or other relevant qualification
• At least 5-8 years working experience in an accounting firm, which 3 years of managerial role is required
• Familiarity with Listing rules and the regulation of IPOs or listed companies in Hong Kong
• Hands-on experience in handling IPO projects is a plus
• Willing to travel on business needs
• Good command of written and spoken of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin)
