Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Health & Safety professional to lead site safety across construction and fit-out projects. You will implement policies, conduct audits, and ensure regulatory compliance while coordinating with clients, contractors and regulators.

Strong English and Cantonese communications are essential. The role requires a Safety Supervisor Certificate, RSO status, and at least five years of HK HSE experience on office, refurbishment or facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or related safety/construction discipline.
• Holder of a recognised Safety Supervisor Certificate or equivalent.
• Registered Safety Officer (RSO) status is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant health and safety management experience in construction, fit-out, refurbishment or facility projects.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and managing HSE compliance across construction/ renovation works.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong health and safety legislation, regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
• Good command of English and Cantonese, with strong written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Construction Phase Plans to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Lead and oversee all site health and safety activities, ensuring a safe environment for employees, contractors and visitors.
• Establish, implement and continuously improve safety policies and procedures across project sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety audits.
• Monitor effectiveness of the safety management system and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective measures.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programs.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities on health and safety matters.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly health and safety reports to stakeholders.
• Provide professional advice to project teams to integrate safety into all activities.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement.
