Job summary

KIRA is hiring a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and raise the engineering bar across the team. This is a hands-on leadership role, designing systems, writing and reviewing code, solving tough problems, and guiding other engineers to deliver major initiatives.

You'll move between architecture and implementation, making strong technical decisions while staying closely connected to the codebase to execute when needed. Remote work available.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend/frontend/APIs or distributed systems.
• Ability to make architectural decisions for high-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products and initiatives.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, reviews and production problem solving.
• Review designs and code, mentor engineers, and drive reliability.
• Set high standards for code quality, testing, security and observability.
• Interface with product, design and AI teams to ship high-quality products quickly.
• Own systems beyond release: monitor production and investigate incidents.
