Job summary

Maisha Mazuri is seeking a lead DevOps/Platform Engineer to drive the vision for a trading platform in a hybrid bare metal and cloud environment. You will lead a small team of DevOps and Platform Engineers, optimize performance and scalability, and delegate tasks across the group.

Collaborate with Quants and backend engineers, build automations, reduce manual intervention, and steer company-wide tech projects in alignment with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• A proactive and driven attitude.
• At least 8 years work experience in a DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or similar role.
• Professional grasp of the English language (please know, our partner companies are made up of staff from all over the world most of whom are non-native English speakers).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally AWS or GCP) and related DevOps technologies.
• Professional experience working with bare metal servers in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency scripting in Bash, Python, Go, or Powershell.
• Experience in a financial markets setting is a nice to have.

Job description

Our partner company is a trading firm with an in-house developed trading system trading both traditional markets and digital assets. This position is the lead for a small team of DevOps and Platform Engineers in a hybrid bare metal and cloud environment. You will be responsible for driving and implementing the DevOps vision for the entire trading platform with a key focus on performance and scalability. This includes, amongst others, focusing on optimizing the existing set-up, delegating tasks across the team, building automations and reducing the need for manual intervention, prioritising company-wide tech projects in alignment with other lead engineers, working closely with Quants, backend engineers, and other stakeholders in driving projects to completion.

Requirements
