Job summary

A leading consulting firm in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Lead Architect / Data Architect to design scalable data architecture solutions for big data analytics. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 10 years in designing solutions for data management platforms, preferably in the Cloud. Responsibilities include managing data analytic projects, ensuring data governance, and modernizing ETL frameworks. Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese are required.

Job description

SW8185 |29 Jul 2021 Lead Architect / Data Architect

• Lead the architecture design and roadmap of big data analytics solutions
• Propose and design data architecture solutions for scalability, high availability and elasticity in Cloud, e.g. AWS, Google
• Ensure data governance and security best practices for the big data platform in Cloud
• Integrate diverse online and offline data including batched transactional, demographics, master data, web analytics and large volume streaming data, etc.
• Lead the use of visualization tools to bring data insights and values to business users
• Modernize the ETL framework and approach with latest data transformational tools
• Provide platform guidance to Data Scientist to drive machine learning practice
• Manage and participate in data analytic project initiatives, including but not limited to data schema design, ETL design and development, data presentation and visualization.

• University degree holder in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; Master degree is preferred
• Minimum 15 years' relevant IT working experience, of which at least 10 years' experience of designing and implementing solution architecture; Proven work experience in leading a team to build and maintain data management platform, preferably big data platform in Cloud
• Experience in defining data architecture roadmap, current and target state
• Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and analytic data
• Strong experience in implementing integration and data architecture solutions
• Familiar with agile methodologies and put DevOps into data integrations
• Solid experience in large scale data analytics and visualization
• Experience in machine learning models would be an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills in both English and Chinese.
