PFCC Group is seeking a Java Developer / Application Support Engineer to contribute to development, maintenance, and support of mission-critical applications, middleware, and messaging systems that power global capital markets.

As part of a large-scale technology transformation, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, drive tests, embrace CI/CD, and support on-premise and cloud deployments with robust troubleshooting and documentation.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 0-1+ years hands-on Java development or app support.
• Strong OOP and software engineering practices.
• Practical SQL and relational DB experience.
• Scripting (Python, Linux Bash) and web tech familiarity.
• Experience with CI/CD deployment tools, version control, Jira.
• Experience with testing methodologies (manual/auto).
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin with strong communication.

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Java Developer / Application Support Engineer to join its team. As part of a large-scale technology transformation, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and support of mission-critical applications, middleware, and messaging systems that support global capital markets operations.

In this role, you will help build, enhance, and support robust, scalable applications that power business-critical trading and operational systems. Working closely with business stakeholders, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle while supporting the adoption of modern engineering practices, testing automation, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development & Support: Develop clean, high-performance Java applications and middleware solutions, ensuring alignment with global banking security, quality, and engineering standards.
• Production Triage & Maintenance: Perform troubleshooting, log analysis, and production support for Java-based applications, investigating and resolving user-reported issues under tight timelines.
• SDLC & Agile Delivery: Participate in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and capacity planning within Agile squads.
• CI/CD & Deployment Management: Support deployment and go-live activities for on-premise and cloud-based applications via CI/CD pipelines.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit testing (JUnit), and test automation (e.g., Selenium or automated regression frameworks) to improve code quality and system reliability.
• Database & Integration Work: Collaborate on database interactions, writing and optimizing SQL queries to support data workflows and system integrations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a reliable technical point of contact for business stakeholders, maintaining detailed documentation of issues, deployment activities, and system workflows.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical/quantitative discipline.
• 0-1+ years of hands-on software development or application support experience, featuring strong, demonstrable proficiency in Java development.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software engineering best practices.
• Practical experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Linux Bash) and web technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD deployment tools, version control, and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).
• Familiarity with automated or manual testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with proven experience investigating production issues, analyzing logs, and debugging software under pressure.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (Putonghua), with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage regional and global stakeholder expectations.
