Job summary

Inhabit in Hong Kong is seeking a skilled 2D drafting and design support specialist to develop 3D façade details from architectural sketches. You will work closely with architects, engineers and the design team to produce concept through tender packages and to advance your technical skills in design, fabrication and materials.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of façade design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD or Rhino, and good Mandarin/English communication.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience in façade design.
• At least one year BIM experience (Revit or Rhino).
• Degree or diploma in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
• Proficiency in MS Office and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup Pro).
• Knowledge of graphic software (Photoshop, InDesign).
• Good written and verbal communication in Chinese and English; Mandarin a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2D drafting and design support to develop 3D façade details from sketches.
• Produce façade details based on architectural drawings.
• Work with the team to deliver concept, detailed and tender packages.
• Develop skills in design, engineering, materials and related areas.
• Communicate regularly with design team and managers; attend meetings with architects and contractors.

About the Role

The role includes:

• Provide 2D drafting and Design support to develop 3-dimensional details for the purposes of design development.
• Producing details of façade systems based on architectural sketches.
• Working closely with other team members to produce concept, detailed and tender packages.
• Development of own skills in design, engineering, materials, etc.
• Communicating regularly with design team and manager.
• Attending meetings with architects and contractors.

What do we need from you

• 1- 2 years’ experience in façade design
• At least one year BIM (Revit or Rhino) experience on building industry
• Degree or diploma holder of mechanical / civil / structural engineering
• Proficiency in MS office
• Knowledge of 3D design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup Pro, etc.)
• Knowledge of graphic software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English. Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
