Omnix AI based in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned Chief Technology Officer to shape technology strategy and drive product delivery. You will oversee four tech lines: algorithms, software platforms, AI infrastructure, and electromechanical hardware, aligning R&D with business goals.
You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, build scalable AI computing infra, and guide end-to-end delivery of AI + robotics across industries, while ensuring governance, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
This is a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) position reporting directly to the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer. The role is responsible for overall technology strategy, R&D systems, and product delivery. The CTO will oversee four technology lines: algorithms, software platforms, AI infrastructure, and electromechanical hardware, ensuring technical capabilities directly support pre-sales expansion and project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Define and execute company technology strategy and product technology roadmap, coordinating R&D planning for AI model algorithms (computer vision, reinforcement learning, multimodal perception, large model applications) and embodied intelligent robots
Build and manage cross-disciplinary R&D teams (algorithms, software, AI infrastructure, mechatronics and manufacturing), establish R&D processes, engineering standards, and talent development pipelines
Plan and build AI infrastructure supporting large model training, fine-tuning, and robot edge inference (GPU clusters, distributed training/inference, cloud-native ML/AI platforms, edge-native architecture, and model quantization deployment)
Lead end-to-end delivery of AI + robotics in physical industry scenarios (smart agriculture, smart livestock, biological manufacturing, energy infrastructure): connect algorithms—mechatronics—manufacturing—delivery full chain, manage delivery quality, cost, and timeline
Support pre-sales expansion: collaborate with business teams to engage customers and partners, deliver technical solutions, feasibility assessments and POCs, participate in key project presentations and commercial negotiations
Establish observability, capacity management, cost governance, and security compliance systems for AI workloads, meeting Hong Kong and mainland China regulatory requirements for cross-border data and AI governance
Participate in group "Hong Kong Brain + Shenzhen Engine" dual-engine collaboration and globalization strategy, drive technology standardization and overseas (European and global) market adaptation
About you
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, or related fields
15+ years of information technology and infrastructure experience, with 3+ years focused on AI/ML infrastructure or AI platforms, and equivalent technical team leadership or CTO experience
Capability to plan and operate large-scale AI computing infrastructure: GPU clusters, distributed training, cloud-native ML/AI platforms (K8s, Docker, Kubeflow/Ray, vLLM/Triton), GPU virtualization and sharing (qGPU/MIG), and hybrid cloud (public cloud + self-built IDC + edge) unified scheduling
Familiarity with mainstream cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure/Alibaba Cloud/Tencent Cloud, etc.) and mainstream training/inference frameworks (PyTorch, DeepSpeed, FSDP, etc.); proficiency in IaC (Terraform/Ansible) and observability (Prometheus/Grafana)
Hands-on experience building technical teams from scratch and establishing R&D systems, capable of covering strategy, architecture, and front-line delivery simultaneously
Solid cost governance and engineering management capabilities, able to complete technical layout and delivery targets with limited resources in early-stage startups
Bilingual (English and Chinese) communication and presentation skills, able to work in Hong Kong (Cantonese proficiency preferred)
