Job summary

China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Branch seeks an experienced Internal Control professional for Digital Banking & AI Governance in Retail Business Management. You will formulate robust policies, advise on digital channel compliance, and translate regulatory requirements into actionable plans.

The role requires at least 5 years in banking, familiarity with AI governance, and strong communication in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• University degree or above is required.
• At least 5 years of banking experience.
• Knowledge of local regulatory requirements, industry practices and market dynamics.
• Familiar with AI regulatory knowledge, including generative AI, AI governance and model risk management.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin included).

Responsibilities

• Formulate and maintain policies and procedures with proportionate controls.
• Serve as the compliance advisory point for digital channels (internet and mobile banking).
• Collaborate with frontline units and risk teams to translate requirements into action plans.
• Execute gap assessments, control testing, and annual reviews; drive corrective actions.
• Screen marketing collateral, new products, and system rollouts for compliance and cybersecurity.
• Monitor AI regulatory expectations and implement policy enhancements.
• Derive improvements from customer complaints, audit findings, and risk events.
• Deliver risk reports and insights to senior leadership and second-line stakeholders.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, audits, onsite inspections; manage remediations.
• Roll out targeted compliance training across business teams.
• Handle ad-hoc assignments as assigned.

Serve as the compliance advisory point for digital channels, including internet and mobile banking

Collaborate with frontline business units and risk teams to translate regulatory requirements into implementable action plans

Execute periodic gap assessments, control testing and annual reviews, and steer timely corrective actions

Screen marketing collateral, new products and system rollouts for compliance, legal and cybersecurity exposures

Monitor evolving AI/information-technology regulatory expectations and implement corresponding policy enhancements

Derive improvement opportunities from customer complaints, audit findings and emerging risk events

Deliver management-level risk reports and insights to senior leadership and second-line stakeholders

Coordinate regulatory reporting, internal/external audits and on-site inspections, and manage follow-up remediations

Roll out targeted compliance training programmes to foster risk awareness across business teams

Handle ad-hoc assignments as assigned
