Schroders in Hong Kong offers a 10‑week Summer Internship Programme, starting 14 June 2027, designed to provide an introduction to asset and wealth management. You will participate in training, join a team, and contribute to live projects while shadowing leaders in the field.

We are seeking driven, client‑focused individuals with a genuine interest in financial markets. Interns will network with colleagues and gain practical experience to build a foundation for a career in asset management.

We serve a diverse client base that includes pension schemes, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, high net worth individuals, family offices, as well as end clients through partnerships with distributors, financial advisers, and online platforms.

Our 2027 Hong Kong Summer Internship Programme runs for 10 weeks, starting on Monday 14 June 2027 and finishing on Friday 20 August 2027. This internship is designed to give you a unique introduction to the asset and wealth management industry and offers valuable insight into how your chosen department operates within Schroders.

Throughout the programme you will:

Required skills and capabilities:

Bilingual proficiency in English and Cantonese (mandatory) .

Shows genuine interest in asset management and current market trends, with the ability to discuss the impact of economic events on investments and form well‑reasoned opinions on commercial or financial matters.

Demonstrates moderate understanding of finance, able to discuss macro‑level topics with clients and articulate insights effectively.

Acts as a self‑starter who is driven and passionate, willingly takes initiative, and seeks out opportunities - evidenced by leading or launching projects, societies, or volunteering activities.

Maintains composure and methodical thinking under pressure, balancing commitments and delivering results even in high‑pressure environments.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications we’re looking for:

When the internship commences, you will have completed your second year of studies and will be on track to graduate with a degree (or equivalent) in 2028.

We welcome applications from all degree subjects, as long as you can demonstrate sound judgment and commercial acumen.

Please note that we do not accept applications from students in their final year who intend to undertake further study (e.g. a Master's degree) before entering employment.

A good working knowledge of document production software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
