Job summary

Cathay Pacific is seeking a Heavy Maintenance Supply Chain & Global Logistics Lead in Hong Kong SAR. You will support the direct manager in implementing cost-effective strategies for base maintenance supply chain readiness and lead global logistics initiatives including spares and tooling pooling at outstations.

Role requires strong analytical skills, cost awareness and experience in airline material management.

Qualifications

• Experience in aviation, supply chain or engineering industries is required.
• Strong analytical and process orientation.

Responsibilities

• Resolve material readiness for planned maintenance at outstations and address shortages cost-effectively.
• Manage spare readiness and replenishment for outstation activities and new stations.
• Provide inventory management support to meet cabin metrics and performance targets.
• Define outstation stocking and pooling strategies; forecast unscheduled material consumption; monitor logistics providers.
• Lead LEAN projects to streamline processes and reduce maintenance costs.
• Coordinate with Suppliers, Planning and Technical teams on rescheduling due to shortages.
• Control budget expenses and support strategic inventory decisions.
• Assist Inventory Manager in developing functional strategies and dashboards.

Role Introduction

This role is part of our Engineering Department who are focused on reassurance, keeping our people and our customer’s safe, ensuring that in every aspect of our operation. we have industry leading performance and that our various fleet programmes are delivering to plan, budget and specification.

In this role, you are responsible for supporting the direct manager to implement cost effective strategies to ensure supply chain readiness of all base maintenance activities in Hong Kong. You are also responsible for global logistics strategies and implementations, as well as the management of spares and tooling located at outstations and the associated pooling arrangement with other operators

Key Responsibilities

• Item 1 of 8, Resolving material readiness of planned maintenance activities at the outstations and shortges in base maintenance through cost-effective sourcing of parts for defect clearance
• Item 2 of 8, Managing the spare readiness and replenishment for outstation activities, including new stations and planned maintenance tasks
• Item 3 of 8, Delivering cabin excellence through providing strong Inventory Management support, to meet Company cabin metric targets
• Item 4 of 8, Delivering operation excellence through defining outstation material stocking and pooling strategy, forecasting the unscheduled material consumption, and monitoring the performance of logistics service providers
• Item 5 of 8, Initiating and leading the LEAN projects to streamline operational processes and reduce maintenace costs
• Item 6 of 8, Liaising with the Suppliers, Planning and Technical team on maintenance task rescheduling due to material shortages
• Item 7 of 8, Controlling budget expenses
• Item 8 of 8, Assisting the Inventory Manager in developing the functional strategies and dashboards

Requirements

• Item 1 of 10, Minimum 8 years' experience in aviation, supply chain or engineering industry
• Item 2 of 10, Degree in Engineering/Aerospace or Logistics discipline or other engineering field. Alternatively, other relevant qualifications, combined with extensive practical experience in airline material management
• Item 3 of 10, Strong analytical skills and process-oriented
• Item 4 of 10, Strong commercial and financial awareness and acumen
• Item 5 of 10, Ability to use data to initiate improvement on cost and process
• Item 6 of 10, Strong supplier management, communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with counterparts
