TF International Securities Group Limited in Hong Kong seeks a senior Head of Structuring to lead the development and expansion of the Structuring Desk, leveraging existing infrastructure and regulatory capabilities.
You will originate, structure and execute products such as structured notes, options and swaps, coordinating with Delta One and other trading desks, while building scalable offerings for institutional and corporate clients.
The firm has established an institutional brokerage franchise supported by research, institutional sales and execution capabilities, serving a growing base of international institutional clients. As part of the firm’s strategy to expand beyond traditional research and execution services into higher-value trading products and client solutions, the Head of Structuring will lead the development and expansion of the Structuring Desk.
This is not a greenfield build. The firm already has core infrastructure in place, including note issuance programmes, derivatives and financing documentation, account arrangements, cross-border structures and product onboarding capabilities. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage and enhance these existing resources, connect them more effectively with the firm’s institutional client franchise, and convert them into scalable products, transactions and recurring revenue.
The role requires a senior, hands-on structurer who combines product expertise with commercial judgment and execution capability. The Head of Structuring will initially be supported by an existing junior team member and will have the flexibility to recruit additional resources as the business develops.
Develop and execute the business strategy and product roadmap for the Structuring Desk, with responsibility for business pipeline, revenue generation and sustainable growth.
Review and optimize the firm’s existing structuring infrastructure, including note issuance programmes, ISDA and GMRA documentation, counterparty arrangements, account structures and cross-border platforms.
Work closely with Institutional Sales, Research and Trading to identify client needs and convert the firm’s existing institutional relationships into investment, financing and hedging transactions.
Originate, structure and execute products including structured notes, options and swaps, client-driven repo and secured financing, structured financing and cross-border investment solutions.
Develop repeatable and scalable product offerings while retaining the ability to provide customized solutions for key institutional and corporate clients.
Lead all key aspects of transaction structuring, including product design, payoff analysis, pricing, funding assessment, scenario modelling, term sheet preparation, counterparty selection and legal documentation.
Oversee the economics, lifecycle and risk characteristics of structured transactions, and coordinate hedging, execution and position management with Delta One and other relevant trading desks.
Develop and maintain relationships with issuers, derivative counterparties, financing providers, distributors, external legal advisers and other product partners.
Lead new-product approval, product onboarding and transaction governance, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, suitability, disclosure, risk and internal control requirements.
Collaborate with Investment Banking and other origination teams on eligible opportunities, subjectto applicable compliance controls.
Coordinate with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, Operations, Middle Office, Back Office and Technology to improve front-to-back transaction processes and operational efficiency.
Manage and develop the existing junior team member, establish clear operating standards and recruit additional personnel where supported by business needs.
Master’s degree in quantitative finance, financial engineering, mathematics, economics, finance or a related discipline preferred.
At least eight years of relevant experience in structuring, derivatives, structured products or Global Markets solutions within a reputable investment bank, securities firm or financial institution.
Demonstrated ability to originate and execute structured transactions, rather than focusing solely on quantitative modelling or product documentation.
Proven commercial track record in converting institutional client needs and existing platform capabilities into executable transactions and sustainable revenue.
Strong knowledge of structured notes, equity-linked products, options, swaps, repo, secured financing and structured financing. Experience in cross-asset products is an advantage.
Practical experience with note issuance programmes, ISDA/CSA, GMRA, transaction documentation, account structures and cross-border product arrangements.
Strong understanding of pricing, hedging, funding, market risk, counterparty risk, balance-sheet usage and transaction lifecycle management.
Experience in product approval, counterparty onboarding and coordination with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and other control functions.
Entrepreneurial and hands-on approach, with the ability to develop a business within a lean organization and make effective use of existing infrastructure and resources.
Strong leadership, commercial judgment, client communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Proficiency in Bloomberg, including TOMS where relevant, and Microsoft Office. Programming experience in Python, VBA, SQL or similar tools is an advantage.
Eligible to obtain or maintain the relevant SFC licences required for the role.
Fluent in English and Mandarin; proficiency in Cantonese is an advantage.
