We are seeking a Head of Risk to build and lead LTP's group-wide risk function as the firm expands from digital assets into a multi-asset prime brokerage business.
This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who can not only establish risk frameworks and governance, but also work directly with Trading, Financing, Product and Engineering teams to translate risk principles into practical limits, systems and controls.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in prime brokerage, understands financing and trading risk deeply, and has a track record of building risk capabilities in a regulated and technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Group Risk Framework
- Own and build LTP's Group Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite, limits and escalation mechanisms across all entities and business lines.
- Establish a consolidated view of market, credit, counterparty, liquidity, funding, operational and concentration risks across the Group.
- Build and lead the Group Risk team and establish effective risk governance and reporting to senior management and the Board.
Prime Brokerage, Trading and Financing Risk
- Own the risk framework for LTP's core execution and financing businesses.
- Design and manage client leverage, margin methodologies, collateral haircuts, concentration limits, credit limits and liquidation protocols.
- Monitor exposures across clients, exchanges, brokers, custodians and other counterparties.
- Develop stress testing, scenario analysis, default management and liquidity risk frameworks.
- Provide independent risk oversight for the firm's asset management and investment activities.
FCM and Regulatory Risk
- Build a risk management framework capable of supporting LTP's planned US FCM business and other regulated entities.
- Develop appropriate frameworks for segregation, capital, liquidity, margin, counterparty exposure and default management.
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance on regulatory applications, examinations and ongoing regulatory requirements.
- Act as a senior risk representative in discussions with regulators where required.
Multi-Asset Risk
- Develop LTP's risk architecture as the firm expands from crypto into traditional asset classes, including futures, equities, FX, commodities and OTC derivatives.
- Establish consistent methodologies for managing and aggregating risk across asset classes, trading venues and legal entities.
- Design frameworks for both exchange-traded and bilateral OTC exposures.
Risk Technology and Automation
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to embed risk controls directly into LTP's technology infrastructure.
- Build automated and real-time capabilities including pre-trade limits, margin monitoring, credit controls, concentration monitoring, margin calls, liquidation and risk alerts.
- Translate risk policies and methodologies into clear system and product requirements.
- Drive the development of a scalable risk platform capable of supporting 24/7 and multi-asset operations.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- 10+ years of relevant risk experience at a prime broker, FCM, clearing broker, broker-dealer, investment bank or institutional trading firm, with meaningful senior leadership responsibility.
- Strong practical experience in trading, margin, financing, collateral, counterparty credit and liquidity risk.
- Experience building or materially upgrading a risk function, rather than solely operating within an established framework.
- Experience in an FCM, futures clearing or comparable regulated derivatives business, with working knowledge of CFTC/NFA or equivalent regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of electronic trading and real-time risk management.
- Ability to work directly with traders, product managers and engineers to design practical risk controls.
- Strong quantitative and analytical foundation.
Desirable
- Experience across both traditional finance and digital assets.
- Experience managing risk across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions.
- Experience with securities financing, OTC derivatives or prime brokerage.
- Experience supporting regulatory applications or examinations.
- FRM, PRM or CFA qualification.
Personal Attributes
- Hands-on builder mindset — willing to personally design frameworks, review exposures and solve problems rather than operate only at a policy level.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable building within a fast-growing organization.
- Independent and willing to challenge the business while remaining commercially pragmatic.
- Technology-oriented, with a strong belief in automation and system-driven risk management.
- Calm under pressure and able to communicate effectively with traders, engineers, senior management, boards and regulators.
