The Head of Innovation Business will be fully responsible for the strategic planning, business development, compliance operations, and team management of the company’s innovation business unit. This role focuses on OTC trading services, B2B cross-border trade stablecoin payment and settlement scenarios, as well as the forward-looking planning and execution of crypto card issuance (Virtual/Physical Crypto Card) business.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Strategy Planning & Commercialisation
- Based on global trends in crypto payments, formulate and execute a comprehensive business growth blueprint, establishing clear commercial monetisation models and competitive moats.
- Lead the scaled operations of OTC trading, optimising liquidity pools, on/off-ramp channels, and pricing strategies to enhance capital turnover efficiency and overall yield.
- Deeply penetrate B2B trade stablecoin payment use cases, targeting cross-border trade, cross-border e‑commerce, and supply chain finance needs, delivering secure, low‑cost, and high‑efficiency stablecoin (e.g., USDT/USDC) clearing and settlement solutions.
- Proactively plan and drive the card issuance business (Virtual/Physical Crypto Card), covering end‑to‑end execution from card network partnerships, issuer bank integration, product design to compliance architecture.
- Lead high‑level strategic negotiations with top‑tier institutions across both crypto and traditional finance, including but not limited to market makers (MMs), custodians, payment gateways, crypto‑friendly banks, card networks (Visa/Mastercard, etc.), licensed and acquiring entities.
- Build and maintain deep trust relationships with partner C‑level executives and decision‑makers, fostering binding collaboration models such as liquidity sharing, joint innovation, and exclusive card‑issuance partnerships.
3. Compliance, Risk Management & Local Market Implementation
- Closely monitor crypto, VASP, and crypto‑payment regulatory developments in key regions (e.g., Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America), and work with Legal & Compliance to drive the application and maintenance of relevant financial/crypto licences.
- Lead the establishment of a robust transaction risk control framework, ensuring that OTC trading, stablecoin payments, and card issuance fully comply with international AML, CTF, and other regulatory standards.
4. Team Management & Organisational Development
- Build and manage a multidisciplinary business team covering business development, trading/liquidity management, product operations, compliance, and risk control, establishing efficient global distributed collaboration mechanisms.
- Define clear performance metrics and incentive systems, continuously enhance team professionalism and tactical execution, and cultivate a top‑tier team with international vision and deep local capabilities.
5. Internal Synergy & Resource Integration
- As the highest decision‑maker for the innovation business, closely coordinate with internal Product & Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and traditional payment business units to ensure end‑to‑end efficient delivery of key projects from design to go‑live.
- Regularly communicate project milestones, market opportunities, and risks; evaluate strategic investment or M&A opportunities along the payment and fintech value chain to accelerate the company’s global ecosystem coverage and technology upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years in fintech, cross‑border payments, crypto, or Web3, with at least 5 years in senior management roles at leading Web3 institutions, OTC desks, crypto payment platforms, or licensed VASPs.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of Web3 payment and financial logic, with hands‑on experience and in‑depth insights into OTC trading operations, B2B stablecoin clearing & settlement, and Crypto Card / Web3 card issuance processes.
- Network & Resources: Extensive Web3 ecosystem network, including top‑tier liquidity providers/MMs, crypto‑friendly banks, custodians, card networks, and regulatory/licensed resources in key regions; ability to directly access and influence critical decision‑makers.
- Leadership: Proven experience in managing global, distributed, or cross‑cultural teams, with strong cross‑time‑zone and cross‑language collaboration skills, and demonstrated organisational and talent development capabilities.
- Negotiation & Communication: Adept at C‑level engagement with financial institutions and Web3 flagship projects; strong strategic negotiation and complex deal‑structuring skills, with a track record of successfully leading major partnership projects or card issuance programmes.
- Language: Excellent command of both English and Chinese (Mandarin) as working languages, capable of high‑stakes business negotiations and formal written communications.
- Competencies: Highly strategic with strong business acumen, combined with exceptional execution and resilience; able to make clear decisions in the highly uncertain and fast‑paced crypto environment.
- Integrity & Compliance: Unwavering integrity and compliance awareness; Bachelor’s degree or above required; degrees in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or MBA preferred.
