Job summary

KittySpout, a profitable DTC pet brand, seeks a Head of Product Development to own products from problem to mass production. You will build the product function, hire contract teams, and establish factories in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Hong Kong, visiting joints weekly.

Qualifications

6–8+ years building physical products end to end, ideally consumer hardware with electronics.
Experience building and running a product team (design, engineering, factories).
Fluent in English and Mandarin; based in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Hong Kong; able to visit factories weekly.

Responsibilities

Build and own the product roadmap for both brands, with quarterly launches.
Translate customer insights into product briefs and drive mass production.
Hire and manage contract designers, engineers and studios in Shenzhen; shepherd through stage gates.
File patents and secure IP with suppliers and contractors.
Source, vet and manage Pearl River Delta factories to hit landed cost and margin.
Set quality standards and hand over products ready for launch.
Establish a weekly product update process and plan next hires.
