Job summary

Old Mission is a global proprietary trading firm seeking a Fundamental Research Analyst to join our APAC office. The role involves conducting economic, event-driven, and company-specific research to uncover new trading opportunities, with emphasis on idea generation over routine reporting.

You will analyze data and information to influence trading decisions, work closely with traders, and develop quantitative tools and market insights.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in a Research Analyst Role.
• A demonstrable passion for the financial markets as well as for problem solving and pattern recognition.
• Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a time-sensitive, fast-paced, collaborative, and collegial environment.
• A strong quantitative, analytical and research-oriented skill set.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Reuters.
• Programming skills in Python will get you bonus points!

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze financial/events/information that will have an impact on the options of underlying securities
• Support traders by being the sole point of contact for conducting quantitative and macroeconomic research
• Analyze datasets to identify their potential impact on the price of certain securities and their underlying options
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on information that could affect trading decisions
• Collaborate directly with traders by providing them with the fundamental overlay necessary to do many things, including developing tools, analyzing market data, and testing strategies
